our vision
We are committed to designing spaces that centre around people, participation and a sensorial aesthetic achievement.
Rooted in the legacy of Manuel Marques de Aguiar, each design process applies practical concepts of identity and sustainability, valuing place and heritage for an indefinite number of generations.
From objects to territory design, we pursue creation through processes of participation that deliver experiences of enjoyment and care.
These are our projects. Strategies, designs, and programmes that activate a sense of belonging to places and trigger contexts of caring for shared environments.
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
We design pieces that seek the transformation of each place and enhance the enjoyment of reality.
We deliver works that achieve rigorous and detailed solutions, offering visions that can surpass the initial client's programme, with a particular unexpected dimension.
Engaging with the different levels of needs and desires, while re-designing heritage and identity qualities, lead us to embrace artists, curators or expert’s challenges for seminal research.
We are deeply interested in broadening our sensorial perception research by innovating aesthetic experiences though the experimentation with light, colour, materialities, textures, spatial composition and detailing.
URBAN PLANNING
MAG is a firm rooted in architecture and urban planning that aims to produce and transform territories to improve experiences and allow inhabitants to reclaim their places.
It is a practice anchored in the experience of Manuel Marques de Aguiar (1927-2015), whose greatest legacy is the integration of ongoing transformation, managing both immediate and long-term impacts.
A strategy and method for the transformation and reappropriation of the landscape.
In each project, the team assesses the community's needs, with a rigorous effort to identify functional, aesthetic, and cultural aspirations.
In territorial projects, MAG employs a practice of guiding transformation through participatory processes and integrated place-making actions that foster a sense of belonging and recover the contemporary relevance of heritage.
