LOKAL is a bilateral initiative driven by the mission to strengthen the relationship among the inhabitants of a place through their culture. The partnership between Mag Marques de Aguiar (MAG) and Fri musikk Kvinnherad (FRI) aims to create sustainable and innovative tourism and cultural products, using participatory models of artistic creation in the communities of Pedrógão Grande and Kvinnherad. Through this partnership, these communities will be culturally and touristically enriched, promoting a more robust and inclusive local development.

The Museu Experimenta Paisagem (MEP), promoted by MAG, is a territorial development project in the interior of Portugal. In this open-air museum without walls, artworks punctuate unlikely places in the landscape, and the trails are like museum rooms. With LOKAL, based on the experience of FRI's film team, MEP will develop an innovative participatory method, inaugurating a new type of museum tourism product: the Participatory Creation Trail.

The FRI team, which conducted the Lokalhistorisk Filmkurs project supported in 2018 by European Heritage Days, will promote the creation of new cultural products involving the school community and local administration of Kvinnherad, through joint activities with MAG. The new products are developed using a practiced pedagogical method, integrating new dynamics of reading and interpreting places, both materialized in new artistic objects that enhance tourist points of interest.

These objects and the transformation of the place reinforce local identity and stimulate community belonging.

The first activity will be promoted by MAG in Portugal, as part of a Conference and Workshop aimed at youth from Oleiros and Pedrógão Grande, guided by the pedagogical and filming team of the FRI association. In Norway, the outcome of the joint workshop between MAG and FRI with Kvinnherad students will be exhibited in an Exhibition to promote and discuss the feasibility of cultural and tourist development strategies with citizen participation.

MEP SUMMER CAMP

Integrated into the events of the Museum Experimenta Paisagem, the Summer Camp is aimed at students from across the country and will take place this year in the heart of Portugal, in Oleiros and Pedrógão Grande. This is also a unique opportunity to learn from other experts, combining the fields of audiovisual, marketing, and business models.

Students from the University of Coimbra Participate in Immersive Day at Museu Experimenta Paisagem

Students from the Master's program in Architecture at the University of Coimbra had an unforgettable day in the village of Sobral Fernando, in Proença-a-Nova, during an experience promoted by Museu Experimenta Paisagem (MEP). The aim was to showcase the local history and heritage, providing an immersive journey through one of the region's most emblematic natural landscapes.

The visit began at the headquarters of the Association for the Development of Sobral Fernando (ADSF), followed by a walk along the "Menina dos Medos" trail and a visit to the region's iconic rock shelters. Midday, participants enjoyed a relaxing riverside picnic, prepared by Olinda, a member of the ADSF, and even had the chance to take a refreshing dip in the waters of the Ocreza River.

In the afternoon, a workshop was organized, led by architect Marta Aguiar and her team, which involved local residents in the co-creation of a development strategy for the village. Key topics discussed included the challenges of depopulation and wildfires.

The day ended with a gastronomic sharing moment, where everyone had the opportunity to taste homemade bread, baked in the traditional wood-fired oven by Prazeres, served warm with olive oil and sugar.

This initiative was supported by various community figures, including Ana Louro, Mariana Santo, Rui Louro, Manuel Ribeiro, Joaquim Tomé, Professor Adelino, Olinda, and Carlos.
