The FRI team, which conducted the Lokalhistorisk Filmkurs project supported in 2018 by European Heritage Days, will promote the creation of new cultural products involving the school community and local administration of Kvinnherad, through joint activities with MAG. The new products are developed using a practiced pedagogical method, integrating new dynamics of reading and interpreting places, both materialized in new artistic objects that enhance tourist points of interest.
These objects and the transformation of the place reinforce local identity and stimulate community belonging.

Barbora Hollan is a photographer and international documentary filmmaker. She studied creative documentary direction at the Norwegian Film School and photography at the Academy of Arts Architecture and Design in Prague. In her documentaries, she focuses on creating a safe space for people to open up in front of the camera. As a cinematographer, she seeks to capture emotions, atmospheres, and the poetry of everyday life.
In my films, it's important for me to capture courage and authenticity. When I seek perfection, I find beauty in imperfections and gravitate towards testimonies that are visually powerful but not completely polished.
In recent years, she has also been conducting workshops throughout Norway, aimed at young people and children interested in learning and developing skills in the audiovisual field.

Local History and Storytelling in Kvinnherad Municipality: A Collaborative Initiative
The Kvinnherad Municipality, in collaboration with MEP's expertise, led an exciting project to explore and celebrate the region’s local history, as part of this bilateral initiative's program.
The first workshop in Norway, conduced by the documentary film director Merethe Offerdal, was about filming a documentary about Skålagato Street, the main street of the village. Between the past and the future, many differences are evident – some businesses have closed, while others remain. The students of Malmanger Skule created the documentary, interviewed people who work there and run businesses, and they also acted, reenacting what a store would have been like in the past! This documentary explores the relationship between the past and the present, promotes interaction between the older and younger generations, and celebrates local history. The film will be available soon!
Invitation for the final exhibition
Come explore the exhibition of the artistic objects created by students from Malmanger School in Rosendal as part of this groundbreaking cultural initiative. This activity celebrates the essence of community and culture, aiming to deepen ties between local residents through collaborative creativity.
